The Webster Technique for Pregnancy
When a woman’s pelvis is out of alignment, the ligaments that connect the pelvis to the uterus develop increased tension, resulting in distortion of the uterine space. For the baby, the walls of the uterus tighten with pelvic imbalance, leaving inadequate space for growth and development. This inhibits the baby’s ability to move within the mother’s belly, potentially leaving them in a less-than-ideal position for birth.
This adjustment to the pelvis releases tension in the ligaments so the baby can move freely and assume the best possible position for birth. This reduces the risk of needing a C-section and gives the mother a more comfortable pregnancy and birthing experience.
When to Start the Webster Technique
Chiropractic Webster Technique can be used at any point during pregnancy. However, to prepare the mother’s body and prevent imbalances within the pelvis, it’s recommended to engage this technique early into pregnancy. Women should continue to engage the Webster Technique until delivery of the baby.
