Arthritis
A general term for joint pain or joint disease that is usually associated with swelling, pain, stiffness, and decreased range of motion. The most common reports involve sore and stiff muscles upon waking, but tends to fade throughout the day, a sound of popping or clicking of joints when you move them, or being sensitive or painful to the touch. Contact your nearest MCR Chiropractic clinic today if you are experiencing symptoms of arthritis.
Auto Accident Injury
If you've gotten into a auto accident and are experiencing pain from that accident, it's important to seek professional care. While a medical doctor may not be able to provide you with treatment options such as medication, a chiropractor can provide treatment that can help relieve the pain you are currently experiencing, speed up the healing time of the injury, and help to correct any underlying musculoskeletal dysfunction this injury could leave you with.
Back Pain
Chiropractic care looks at all of the causes of your back pain by taking a detailed history, performing a thorough examination, and performing imaging, or referral out, when needed. By addressing back pain this way, chiropractic care can effectively reduce the pain, fix the underlying problem and keep you functioning with no or very little pain and increased overall function. By treating the muscle spasm, and gently adjusting the sub-luxated joint, pain is relieved, mobility is improved and your nerves are able to work with less interruption or irritation.
Disc Conditions
Discs are the strong ligamentous pads between each vertebrae that protect your spinal column as you move. Their function is to hold the vertebrae apart and also hold them together. Whether an injury or repetitive strain causes destruction to the disc, there can be incredible pain associated with disc problems. Chiropractic helps to manage the inflammation in these injured discs, as well as improve the function of the spine and strength of the surrounding muscles, returning you back to your daily activities.
Elbow, Hand & Wrist Pain
Elbow, hand and wrist pain can often impair your ability to perform everyday activities. Many common conditions and injuries related to these specific areas of pain include, tennis elbow, stress related injuries, sprains, arthritis, and carpal tunnel, just to name a few. After your initial consultation, a chiropractor will decide which techniques and treatment plans are right for you.
Foot Pain
Chiropractic adjustments can correct many of the imbalances that produce chronic foot pain. Abnormal foot arches may require customized orthotics to even out the weight distribution on the feet. If the pain actually stems from a spinal imbalance, you may need chiropractic adjustments to your lower back. Our team may also recommend exercises and other care to strengthen your postural support and keep your joints limber.
Headaches & Migraines
Recent studies have shown that patients suffering from chronic headaches and migraines may benefit more long-term from chiropractic care than drug therapy alone. For headaches that originate in the cervical, or neck, area, chiropractic treatment, such as spinal manipulation, has been shown to be quite effective. A 2001 Duke University study, for example, found that spinal manipulation provided relief for patients with headaches that originate in the neck, and resulted in fewer side effects than medication. Close to 15 percent of people who visit a chiropractor do so to seek relief for pain from chronic headaches or migraines, according to the American Chiropractic Association, and find great relief.
Chiropractic adjustments can correct many of the imbalances that produce chronic knee pain. If the pain actually stems from a spinal imbalance, you may need chiropractic adjustments to your lower back. Our team may also recommend exercises and other care to strengthen your postural support and keep your joints limber.
Neck Pain
Chiropractic care looks at all of the causes of your neck pain by taking a detailed history, performing a thorough examination, and performing imaging, or referral out, when needed. By addressing neck pain this way, chiropractic care can effectively reduce the pain, fix the underlying problem and keep you functioning with no or very little pain and increased overall function. By treating the muscle spasm, and gently adjusting the sub-luxated joint, pain is relieved, mobility is improved and your nerves are able to work with less interruption or irritation
Pregnancy Related Pain
Throughout one’s pregnancy, there may be pain and/or discomfort in the back and neck due to the ligaments and joints loosening up. Utilize chiropractic care to help realign your spinal cord and the ligaments and muscles that surround it to lessen pain and promote health throughout your pregnancy and during birth.
Sciatica
Sciatica occurs most frequently in people between the ages of 30 and 50 years old. It is usually described as pain travelling down the back of one's leg. It can be constant or intermittent. Most often, it tends to develop as a result of general wear and tear on the structures of the lower spine, not as a result of injury.
Chiropractic offers a non-invasive (non-surgical), drug-free treatment option. The goal of chiropractic care is to restore spinal movement, thereby improving function while decreasing pain and inflammation. For most people, sciatica responds very well to conservative care, including chiropractic. Keeping in mind that sciatica is a symptom and not a stand-alone medical condition, treatment plans will often vary depending on the underlying cause of the problem
Scoliosis
There are a tremendous number of benefits of chiropractic treatments for scoliosis. For starters, scoliosis patients may have undergone corrective surgery for the condition. However, with chiropractic treatment, no surgery is required.
MCR Chiropractic performs a completely non-invasive procedure, so the patient does not have to worry about surgery. Secondly, chiropractic treatment is often effective immediately. That means that, for a scoliosis patient in intense pain, immediate relief may be available after just one visit. Follow up visits will likely be necessary for adjustments.
Pain throughout your shoulder and clavicle is actually very common and can indicate an injury, strain, or condition that needs medical attention. The most common causes of shoulder pain include, stress fractures, osteoarthritis, bruising, poor posture and sleep position, and osteomyelitis. Luckily, the chiropractors at MCR specialize in non-invasive treatment plans that are shown to provide effective and long term relief.
Sports Injury
Much like any injury, chiropractic care approaches the sports injury with a detailed history of the injury, thorough examination, referral for imaging or further consult if necessary, and a detailed outline of the patient's return from injury goals.
Chiropractic is not only a go to for injury resolution, but studies have shown the effects chiropractic care (mainly the adjustment) on increasing sports related performance. Chiropractors are members of most all professional sports team's medical staff including the New England Patriots. Chiropractors are also valued members of the Olympic Games medical staff, taking care of the world's most exceptional athletes.
MCR Chiropractic has been a valued member of the medical staff at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships as well as the World Figure Skating Championships when held in Boston.
TMJ
If you only hear a clicking sound when you open your mouth, your TMJ is most likely mild and does not require treatment. However, when you have pain and the TMJ symptoms interfere with your ability to chew, you should seek out treatment. MCR Chiropractic addresses the root cause of TMJ pain through chiropractic adjustments and repositioning the jaw manually.
