CAMI CLEAVELAND, DC

MCR Chiropractic – Newton

Dr. Cleaveland grew up in Oneonta, NY and attended Hartwick College before graduating from Logan University in 2019 with her Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree. At Hartwick College she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a focus in cellular biology. While at Hartwick College played on the women’s soccer team and coached youth soccer throughout her time there.

Dr. Cleaveland first discovered chiropractic care after an injury to her back as a youth. Throughout sports she found herself returning to chiropractic care and learning more about the benefits beyond athletic performance. Her chiropractor became her mentor and rooted her in the art, science, and philosophy of the chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Cleaveland also has seen firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care in improving her cold symptoms, seasonal allergies, and headaches. Her chiropractor was the only doctor that discussed and explained proper diet/supplementation, importance of movement, and healthy living. All of this created a shift in her life to do better and educate people on their lifestyle choices. She knew by becoming a chiropractor, she could positively impact lives the same way she was in her youth.

Dr. Cleaveland takes a wellness and rehabilitative approach to care. This means that appointments are curated to the individuals’ goals by combining chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue and at home care. She recognizes that healing starts in the office, but is maintained the other 24 hours of the day; giving every patient exercises, ergonomic, and lifestyle advice. Her full body “well-care” approach encompasses a wellness philosophy that chiropractic care can decrease your severity and duration of injury or illness when it occurs; allowing you to have less days out of work, the gym, or your busy life.

Dr. Cleaveland enjoys taking care of all ages. With her athletic background and lifestyle, she pursued certifications in movement assessment (SFMA) and soft tissue techniques such as instrument assisted soft-tissue massage (IASTM), taping, and cupping (FAKTR). To provide the best care for women and pregnant people, she has completed certifications in the Webster Technique and most recently, BirthFit. She has completed additional training in the follow techniques: Advanced Diversified and extremity adjusting, Cox Flexion and Distraction, McKenzie Protocol for disc injury, Logan Basic and Activator.

Outside of the office, she likes to explore Boston and the surrounding area with her friends, family, and pup, Skippy. You can find her at the beach, watching a soccer game, a farm to table cafe, or a local non-toxic skincare store. She is an active member of CrossFit City Line and loves to stay active and encourages her patients to do the same.
